BSB40920 Certificate IV Project Management Practice

Applications and expressions of interest are open for Creative Vision Training’s supported online BSB40920 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice commencing Tuesday 3 November 2026.

The program runs to Friday 29 October 2027. It is designed for project coordinators, project administrators, project support staff, supervisors, emerging team leaders and experienced employees moving into project roles.

  • foundations of managing manage projects with PMBOK's 10 knowledge areas
  • assisting in the management of project human resources and stakeholder information
     
Fees:

Tuition Fees: The total course fee for the November 2026 intake is $1,800

Additional Costs: No additional fees for resources and materials.

Payment: Payment is $600 upfront and non-refundable. The final $1,200 is due four weeks after commencement on Tuesday 1 December 2026.. 

Duration and Delivery:

Duration: 12 months

The course is delivered online over 12 months. All scheduled times are Sydney time.

- Tuesday 6 to 8 pm: online video lecture and guided course content

- Thursday 6 to 8 pm: live videoconference training, practical application and assessment

- Friday 6 to 8 pm: optional tutorial support and individual guidance, or by appointment

The program includes orientation, LMS access, live assessment practice, evidence guidance and individual support.

Course Structure:

The qualification contains nine units: three core units and six electives.

 

CORE UNITS
BSBPMG420 Apply Project scope management techniques

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to contribute to the project’s scope by assisting with identifying its objectives, deliverables, constraints, assumptions and outcomes. It also involves applying controls once the project has commenced and contribute to reviewing the suitability of those controls. The unit applies to individuals who support project managers and other team members to apply project scope management techniques.

BSBPMG421 Apply Project time management techniques

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to assist with project scheduling activities, apply and monitor the agreed project schedule, and evaluate the effectiveness of time management for the project.

BSBPMG422 Apply Project quality management techniques

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to enhance project outcomes by contributing to quality planning, applying quality policies and procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement in projects.

BSBPMG423 Apply Project cost management techniques
BSBPMG424 Apply Project human resources management approaches

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to assist with aspects of human resources management of a project. It involves establishing human resource requirements, identifying and facilitating the learning and development needs of people working on the project and resolving conflict in the team.

BSBPMG425 Apply Project information management & communications techniques

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a critical link between people, ideas and information at all stages in the project life cycle. It involves assisting the project team to plan communications, communicating information related to the project, and reviewing communications.

BSBPMG426 Apply Project risk management techniques

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to assist with aspects of risk management in a project. It specifically involves planning for, controlling and reviewing risks associated with the project, and assisting in this process where required.

BSBLDR413 Lead effective workplace relationships
BSBWHS411 Implement and monitor WHS policies procedures and programs
Assessment and project evidence

Assessment includes knowledge evidence, practical tasks, questioning, workplace or realistic project evidence, and observation where applicable. Project-management units require evidence from at least two workplace or approved realistic project contexts where specified.

Assessment decisions are made by a qualified assessor. Attendance or task submission alone does not establish competency.

Before enrolment

Applicants complete CVT's application and learner-support information, language literacy numeracy and digital capability checks, identity and Unique Student Identifier requirements, and a suitability discussion covering project access and support needs.

An initial credit-transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning review is included for applicants with relevant prior training or project experience. RPL and credit transfer are assessed individually and are not guaranteed.
